Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather: Dana White gives opinion

With the money involved, UFC president Dana White believes that the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. superfight will become a reality. Unlike most people think, White said that McGregor won’t be an easy opponent for Mayweather. In an interview, he explained why Mayweather will struggle against “The Notorious”.

“At the end of the day it’s a fight,” White said. “Floyd Mayweather is 40 years old; Conor McGregor is 27. Conor’s a big dude. Floyd has trouble with southpaws; Conor McGregor is a southpaw. And Conor McGregor hits like a truck. When he hits you, you know it. So, in no way, shape or form am I saying Conor McGregor wins this fight. I don’t know. But it’s more interesting than people think it is. … I promise you Conor McGregor will hit him. When they fight (Mayweather) will get hit, and it will be interesting to see what happens.”

McGregor won his two belts with his incredible striking force. In his 24 MMA fights, he won 18 via knockout. As of now, it remains questionable if McGregor can really stain Mayweather’s boxing record. However, “Money” shouldn’t be overconfident as one punch can change everything.

Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather: “The Notorious” starts training

McGregor’s striking coach, Owen Roddy, revealed that “The Notorious” will officially begin his fight camp this week. Roddy believes that it will be the biggest fight of McGregor’s career and said that power will be a telling factor on fight night.

“We did a little bit a week or two ago, but training officially starts hard now when I get back on Tuesday,” Roddy said. “I was talking to Conor over the weekend and we’re getting going. I don’t think it’s officially signed yet, but it will be soon enough and it’s going to be an exciting one, yeah.”
