UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who has been involved in different issues after his controversial retirement tweet, speaks about the fighter he wanted to face in the Octagon. The Irish fighter said that he wanted to focus on getting revenge against the last man who beat him.

With the recent announcement of Conor McGregor, it seems like he is ready to stop the rumors regarding his super fight against the retired boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mayweather first spread the rumors and expressed his intention to come out from retirement as long as the UFC featherweight champion decided to fight him in the boxing ring. Though there are rumors spreading that the fight is already scheduled, there has been no official confirmation from McGregor’s camp.

UFC president Dana White tried to stop the rumors by arranging the fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. They are supposed to have their rematch at UFC 200 but McGregor was pulled out because he failed to make the required promotional appearances. White tried to talk to McGregor about the rematch and their conversation went well. However, opposite things happened when White talked to Nate Diaz.

However, it seems like Conor McGregor is finally decided to make the rematch happens soon. According to Yahoo Sports, McGregor wants to fight Nate Diaz at 170 pounds where the latter managed to defeat him via rare naked submission.

“What kind of fighter would I be, if I said, ‘Hey, I didn’t get you at 170, let me try to get you at 155,'” McGregor said to ESPN. “I’ll make my adjustments. I ate up to the weight. This time, I won’t do that.”

“The first eight minutes of the fight was easy,” McGregor said. “Let’s be honest, I slapped the head off him. Once the gas tank went, that was it. I drowned. He landed that one punch that rang the bell and went, ‘[Gasp] I’m back.’ He was close to being done. One or two more shots and he would have been wrapped up.”

Conor McGregor also speaks about the featherweight division. He said that he will only be interested in fighting in the said division if Frankie Edgar or Jose Aldo will be holding the interim featherweight belt.
