Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson suffered a leg injury in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Cavaliers center Timofey Mozgov’s knee accidentally hit Klay Thompson in the leg forcing the Warriors’ star to leave the game with seconds left in the first quarter. Thompson accused Mozgov of playing dirty in their collision caused by an illegal screen. The Warriors’ star was quickly examined in the locker room and was given a medical treatment.

According to NESN, Klay Thompson was diagnosed with a left quad contusion, making him questionable to return. However, Thompson managed to come back into the game after changing with a pair of compression shorts with thigh pads.

“I didn’t get it. I don’t know. I’m guarding Kyrie, running full speed downhill. I just don’t know who is trying to set a pick on me in the middle of the key,” Thompson said. “If it’s on the perimeter, I understand. But didn’t make sense to me.”

After watching the replay, Thompson became more confident that it was an intentional play by the Cavaliers’ center. However, on a video replay posted by DimeMag, it seemed like the collision was just an accident and Timofey Mozgov was just setting up a screen for Kyrie Irving.

“It seemed kind of dirty to me,” Thompson said. “He stuck his knee out too, but, you know what, that’s basketball.”

The incident seemed to affect the ‘Splash Brother’s scoring performance where Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry only contribute a combined 29 points on 10-of-26 shooting. This led for the Cavaliers to take advantage of the situation and grabbed their first win in the best-of-seven series.

There has been no confirmation yet regarding Thompson’s availability in Friday’s Game 4 but the Warriors star stated that nothing would keep him out of the NBA Finals.
