The Toronto Raptors are looking to get even in their first round series against the Indiana Pacers on Monday. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are looking to bounce back in Game 2 of Raptors vs. Pacers matchup.
Lowry and DeRozan had a very bad shooting night last Saturday in the 100-90 Game 1 loss in front of their hometown fans. Lowry shot 3-for-13 from the field for just 11 points while DeRozan scored only 14 points on 5-for-19 shooting.
Toronto was the favorites coming into the series but their playoff struggles have once again popped out. However, the All-Star duo promised to get better in Game 2 and avoid a 0-2 disadvantage.
“We’re mentally stronger. [Saturday] night, we literally did not play well. It happens. We really shot 38 per cent. And we still had a chance to win,” Lowry told CBC Canada.
“You have that natural instinct when you’re a competitor and that’s the beauty of the game. When things get rough, you kind of find enjoyment in it, and trying to overcome it. That’s the great thing about basketball,” DeRozan added.
The Raptors also need to find a way to slow down Pacers superstar Paul George. “PG13” torched the Toronto defense in Game 1 when he tallied 33 points, four rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks.
“It’s not over. We’re not satisfied with getting a win and being up 1-0. We got a job to do and we have to try to leave this trip at 2-0. It’s going to be tough. This Game 2 is really going to be the toughest game thus far,” George said via the Toronto Sun.
Here are the other details you need to know for Game 2 of the Raptors vs. Pacers first-round series.
