Trade rumors suggest the Celtics send Amir Johnson, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier for Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins and Ben McLemore.

The Boston Celtics swept the Memphis Grizzlies in their season series this year winning 113-103 on Tuesday. The victory comes after a win the Celtics beat these same Grizzlies in an overtime game in Memphis last week.

Celtics combo guard Avery Bradley scored 23 points on an efficient 10-of-17 shooting and added 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Isaiah Thomas made just 6-of-14 shots but finished with 21 points and 7 assists.

The Celtics beat the Grizzlies on Dec. 20. Thomas exploded for a career-high 44 points in that game in the big road victory.

Celtics hold on to the win

The Celtics had more support for Thomas in Tuesday’s rematch. Jae Crowder had 17 points and 7 rebounds and Gerald Green scored 19 points off the bench. Marcus Smart added 13 points, 6 assists and 2 steals.

The Grizzlies were led by Marc Gasol, who continued his MVP-type season for Memphis. The Spanish big man had 26 points, 9 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks and hit 3 three-pointers.

Memphis played without starting point guard Mike Conley, who is suffering from a toe injury. Conley is listed as day-to-day and likely won’t miss extended time.

But even without Conley the Grizzlies battled the Celtics, but couldn’t make the plays in the final minutes. Memphis was within a basket in the final minutes but just couldn’t overtake the Celtics.

Gasol hit a three-pointer with about five minutes to go as the Grizzlies cut down the lead to three, 100-97. However, the Celtics finished the game on a 13-6 run and did not give Memphis a chance to steal the victory.

The Grizzlies will have two tough games ahead on their schedule. Memphis takes on Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder in their next game then faces the surging Sacramento Kings featuring DeMarcus Cousins.
