Chris Bosh opens up the possibility of returning to the NBA as a player but accepted the fact that his time a return to the Miami Heat is already over. According to the latest NBA rumor, the 33-year-old center/power forward may consider a reunion with LeBron James in the Cleveland Cavaliers or return to the Toronto Raptors.

After a failed physical exam, the Heat decided not to let Chris Bosh play in the 2016-17 NBA season. Heat president Pat Riley revealed they’re no longer looking forward to Bosh’s return. As most people think, the Heat plans to remove his salary from the book in order to sign a superstar in the upcoming offseason.

Chris Bosh respects the Miami Heat’s decision

Bosh remains optimistic with his basketball career, believing he could still play in the NBA. In an appearance on Larry King Now, the two-time NBA champion claimed he’s still an athlete and not considering a retirement yet. However, Bosh said he’ll respect whatever the Heat plans to do with his current contract.

“Yeah, I understand what they have to do as a team,” Bosh said. “It is a business. I know we — as athletes and owners and people involved with the NBA — never want to say it’s a business and things like that. It is a business. And hurt does come in with that. But as president of the Miami Heat, I understand what he has to do.”

Despite failing to enter the NBA Playoffs 2017, the Heat showed their potential to become a title contender again. The upcoming offseason will be vital for the Heat, especially with their goal to acquire another superstar on their team. Bosh’s era in Miami may have been officially over but players like Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic proved that they can continue the Heat’s legacy in the succeeding years.

Chris Bosh joining LeBron in Cleveland or returning to Toronto

If Bosh is cleared to play again, there will surely be several NBA teams who will be interested in getting his service. LeBron James will surely welcome a reunion with Bosh in Cleveland if he’s willing to sign a veteran minimum deal. James and Bosh played together in Miami and won two NBA championship titles.

Meanwhile, a return to the Toronto Raptors is also expected to be part of discussions once Bosh is cleared to play. Bosh spent the first seven years of his NBA career playing for the Raptors where he helped them enter the playoffs twice.
