After several reports about his health condition and plans for a possible comeback, Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh is facing yet another setback in his career.
According to the team’s announcement on Friday, Bosh is found to be not medically-cleared after failing preseason physical. The whole issue lead to another Chris Bosh rumor that the superstar’s career might be in jeopardy.
“The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh, in consultation with team doctors and other physicians, have been working together for many months with the mutual goal of having Chris return to the court as soon as possible,” the team’s statement said.
“Chris has now taken his pre-season physical. The Miami Heat regret that it remains unable to clear Chris to return to basketball activities.”
According to ESPN, the Heat declined to disclose any further explanation as to why Bosh failed the physical. Instead, the team cited a clause that prohibits them from releasing certain medical information.
It is also unclear if this is a recurring issue about Bosh’s career with the team where the big man was initially informed by the doctors that his career was likely over six months ago.
“We are not able to comment further in light of Article XXII, Section 3(e) of the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, which precludes a team from releasing certain medical information without a player’s consent,” the Heat management said in a statement.
In a report posted by CBS Sports, the failed physical stated that Bosh had more blood clotting issues lately. This means the the chances of him coming back on the court is slim.
The 11-time All-Star missed the latter half of the 2015-16 season due to a small blood clot found in his leg.
Bosh revealed in an interview on Tuesday that the Heat doctors “told me my season is over, my career is probably over. And this is just how it is”.
As of this writing, no further reports whether the 32-year old Bosh will accept early retirement or not. However, the major concern is his health.
