NBA star Jeremy Lin is enjoying his offseason as he travels the world as part of his summer vacation. But unlike many of his peers who spend their vacations at the beach, Lin ended up visiting the Nordic island country of Iceland.

According to Iceland Magazine, Lin was in an ice cream shop at the town of Akureyri in Northern Iceland when 14-year-old Júlíus Orri Ágústsson and his mother, Guðrún Gísladóttur recognized the Charlotte Hornets point guard.

Ágústsson is a local basketball player who is living in the town of about 18,000 people. He asked for Lin’s autograph and a picture together while her mother invited the player to their home to play one-on-one basketball with her son.

Lin is expected to opt of his contract with the Hornets this summer and become a free agent. He has proven this season that he is a capable scorer off the bench that could earn him a very good contract with many teams.

However, he has expressed his desire to stay in Charlotte and sign a longer deal with the Hornets. He also told several news outlets that he is very happy playing in the Queen City.

Nonetheless, the Hornets have other priorities in free agency including Nicolas Batum, Al Jefferson and Marvin Williams. Besides Charlotte, Lin has been linked with the Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.
