The Brooklyn Nets got their first win of the season on Friday night against the Indiana Pacers at the Barclays Center. Jeremy Lin had a near triple-double in the 103-94 win with Brook Lopez adding a game-high 25 points.

The game versus the Pacers is the Nets’ home opener for the 2016-17 NBA season and they did not disappoint the Brooklyn crowd. After being down ten late in the first quarter, the Nets stormed back in the second quarter to take the lead at the half.

It was a back and forth battle in the third before Jeremy Lin and the Nets pulled away half way in the final quarter. The Nets outscored the Pacers 31-15 in the fourth as they earn their first win of the season.

Brook Lopez scored a game-high 25 points with five rebounds, one assist and a block. He went 10-18 in the field but had five turnovers. Sean Kilpatrick had the game of his career so far by scoring 18 points off the bench and back to back three with four minutes left to ice the game.

Jeremy Lin had a near triple-double in his second game as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. He had 25 points, nine rebounds and nine assists with one block and only two turnovers. He shot 50 percent from the field and made seven of eight free throw attempts to help head coach Kenny Atkinson win his first game.

“I’m happy for our guys. We defended a lot better. Nice to see your work pay off. Showed a lot of character and fight,” Atkinson said after the game, per the Nets Twitter account.

On the other hand, Paul George led the Pacers with 22 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. He struggled shooting in the field going 8 for 22 and he was not very aggressive driving to the basket.

Thaddeus Young added 19 points and eight rebounds while second-year center Myles Turner had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Pacers are coming off a high-scoring overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks on Opening Night.

Jeremy Lin and the Nets travel to Milwaukee on Saturday as they visit the Bucks at BMO Harris Bradley Center. Paul George and the Pacers, on the other hand, will visit the new-look Chicago Bulls on the same day at the United Center.
