The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Atlanta Hawks, 100-99 on Sunday to sweep the Eastern Conference semifinals, 4-0.In the postgame interview, Kevin Love, who was one of the key players in the series against the Hawks, admitted that one thing that motivated him to finish the game early was so that he can catch the Sunday airing of Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 3 title “Oathbreaker”.
LeBron James got a laugh of Love’s statement in the press conference too.
Like many other Game of Thrones fans, Love wants to avoid the spoilers on social media and friends and wanted to watch it on the first airing as well.
The Game of Thrones new episode has the description, “Daenerys meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow. Arya trains to be No One. Varys finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift.” and Love might be excited about the resurrection of Jon Snow in the previous episode.
The Hawks trailed 100-97 with 39 seconds to go and had a chance to tie the game and extend the game to overtime, which is something that Love did not want so he can be on time watching Game of Thrones. The Hawks opted for a quick two and the Cavaliers held on to the win.
The GOT-fan Love top-scored with 27 points and had a double-double along with his 13 rebounds.
The Cavaliers now wait for the winner of the series between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat where the Canadian team has the edge 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 of Raptors-Heat is on Monday.
With the sweep of the Atlanta Hawks, the Cleveland Cavaliers now will have a long rest especially if the Heat beat the Raptors at home in Game 4. Kevin Love will also have more time to watch Game of Thrones and his other favorite TV series.
