The departure of Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks in the upcoming offseason is inevitable as the feud between him and president Phil Jackson continues to get intense. However, for Kobe Bryant, who won multiple NBA championship titles with the “Zen Master”, the Jackson-Anthony relationship could still be fixed.

“Not from what I’ve been through with Phil,’’ Bryant told The Post on Wednesday. “Michael had his rough times with him as well. The history is you get through rough times after you win a good amount of championships. We certainly had our rocky times, but we still stuck to it, we figured out our way through it and came out better because of it. I think the most important thing is sticking to it, being patient. Sometimes things work out. Sometimes they don’t.”

NBA legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant worked under Phil Jackson which played a major role why they became one of the greatest players of all the time. Like Carmelo Anthony, Bryant also engaged in a war of words with the “Zen Master”. However, instead of destroying the team, it helped him become a better player and leader of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kobe Bryant believes Phil Jackson could be a great team president

Bryant hopes the same thing will happen with the ongoing dispute between Anthony and Jackson. The “Zen Master” often criticized Anthony’s game, especially with how long he holds the ball in his hands and his defense. Jackson made it clear that he only wanted to help Anthony become a better player.

He recalled giving the same advice on Bryant and Jordan. However, Anthony’s situation is different. Jackson is now a team president and not the Knicks head coach. Despite earning criticisms in his first three years as an executive, Bryant still believes Jackson can make the franchise great again.

“The responsibilities are different, that’s for sure,’’ Bryant said. “I’m not sure of his relationships with the players, how often. I do know his mind and how he thinks about the game and processes it and sees things in its entirety, the big picture of it. I still trust that judgment.’’

Carmelo Anthony trade will happen no matter what

With the drama surrounding the Knicks, Carmelo Anthony is expected to waive his no-trade clause to join another team next summer. Jackson revealed their plan to trade Anthony and most people believe that it’s time for them to part ways. The potential departure of Anthony will give Kristaps Porzingis the opportunity to become the Knicks’ next franchise player.
