Al Horford is one of the best big men in the free agent market and latest Lakers rumors has Los Angeles reportedly interested. However, the Hollywood team will have some competition in free agency as East teams Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic are also expected to pursue the Atlanta Hawks big man this summer.

Marc Stein of ESPN confirms that those three teams, the Magic, Pistons and the Lakers are just among the many teams interested in Horford, an unrestricted free agent this 2016 offseason.

Being an unrestricted free agent, Horford is free to sign with any other NBA team and the Hawks can lose him for nothing in free agency. The Hawks may be in a rebuilding mode after earlier reports this offseason that they are shopping starting point guard Jeff Teague to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Lakers rumors has the team linked to multiple top free agents including Kevin Durant, the best player in the market. With the retirement of Kobe Bryant, the Lakers have opened up salary cap space that will allow the team to reload with two superstars in the first year of head coach Luke Walton.

Horford, who averaged 15.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.5 blocks for the Hawks in the 2015-2016 NBA Season, could be the first star signed in L.A. and they will pair him with another veteran star in the market and the Lakers are set to contend for a playoff spot again next year.
