The Los Angeles Lakers continue to prove that they are not one of the worst team in the NBA anymore. Under coach Luke Walton, the Lakers have managed to defeat playoff contender teams like the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks, and the Houston Rockets.

“To me, it’s about us as a group,” Walton told reporters. “It’s about what we want to do, what we want to achieve and what we believe. Whether people say we’re the best or the worst, I don’t think that should influence our approach.”

In their past games, it is very noticeable that Walton has brought a healthy environment for the young Lakers, who were seen enjoying the game while being competitive. D’Angelo Russell led the team in scoring with an average of 15.9 points while Julius Randle excelled in rebounding with 7.9 rebounds.

Nick Young has managed to regain his touch and now one of the essential players on the Lakers roster. The veteran presence of Lou Williams, Luol Deng, and Timofey Mozgov create balance in the Lakers, making them a threat to every team they encounter.

For the Dallas Mavericks, they just got their first win against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night. The Mavericks started the season with five losses despite the addition of Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut. Barnes, who signed a four-year deal worth $94 million, proved that he deserved to be given a lucrative contract by the Mavericks.

“I think the biggest thing that Coach (Rick Carlisle) has told me is just looking for my shot and be aggressive,” Barnes told reporters. “My teammates have a lot of confidence in me and when I was able to get into a good rhythm, the basket got bigger and bigger.”

In their upcoming game, the Maverick will be playing without Dirk Nowitzki (Achilles), and Deron Williams (Calf) while the Larry Nance Jr. will be sidelined due to a concussion.
