The Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers meet in a marquee match-up on Thursday night. “Lob City” led by Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan travel to Cleveland to face the “Big 3” LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

Clips, Cavs want to bounce back

The Clippers are coming off one of their worst losses of the season. They allowed the Brooklyn Nets to come back from a double-digit deficit and went on to lose in double overtime (127-122) in their last game.

The Cavaliers are also coming off an upset loss. LeBron and company lost on the road to the Milwaukee Bucks failing to stop Giannis Antetekounmpo last Tuesday. The Greek Freak exploded for 34 points as the Cavs struggled with their defense losing 118-101.

Clippers center Jordan admitted that the success the early part of the season could be getting into their heads.

“I think we are smelling ourselves a little bit. We haven’t done (a thing). Nothing. We were No. 1 in the West for a couple of weeks? That don’t mean nothing. At all,” Jordan told ESPN. “I feel like we took that for granted. We thought we were a lot better than we really are. We got to continue to get better and have respect for the game.”

The Clippers had an 18-point lead against the lowly Nets but relaxed in the second half. Sean Kilpatrick turned in his career game against the Clippers, who stretched their losing streak to 3.

The previous two losses came against the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons on the road. The game against Cleveland will be their fifth straight road game.

The Clippers played without starting forward Griffin and the team wasted a triple-double from Chris Paul, who had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers did not play well in the road against Milwaukee. They were outscored 34-20 in the third quarter as the Bucks won via the blowout. LeBron scored 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting but had 7 turnovers.
