The two best players from the 2015 NBA Draft were Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis. They are starting to take over the league this season but they also became really good friends off the court.

Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis are very good friends

In a recent interview with ESPN, Towns and Porzingis revealed that they have grown to become really close friends. They revealed that they text each other on a regular basis and talks about the game and their families.

“We’re real good friends. We just really enjoy each other’s presence, and the communication we have is always a lot of fun,” Towns said.

“From the beginning, he was a nice guy. He’s like an outgoing type of person, easy to talk to. And we kind of clicked from the beginning,” Porzingis added.

The two also said in the interview that they want to become rivals on the court for the next 15 years. It is not far to think that they are the two future faces of the NBA. However, despite their age, they are slowly taking over the league this season.

The records of their respective teams, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks, might not show it but their young stars are here to stay. Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 blocks per game this season.

On the other hand, Kristaps Porzingis is averaging 20.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. There is also a big possibility that they will be voted or selected to the 2017 All-Star Game in New Orleans.

Who will have a better career?

Karl-Anthony Towns has the lead over Kristaps Porzingis as he won the 2015-16 NBA Rookie of the Year. It is too early to tell who will have a better career but one thing is for sure: Towns and Porzingis are the next faces of the NBA.

In their recent matchup, Towns dropped a career-high 47 points to go along with 18 rebounds. However, it was Porzingis, who scored 29 points, and the Knicks that came out with a 106-104 victory in Minnesota.
