Ben Simmons has all the tools to shine in the league, feels his mentor LeBron James. James also pointed out that the Australian teenager is capable of controlling his destiny.
the LSU product is represented by Klutch Sports Group, a management group owned by LBJ. The 19-year-old has based himself in Cleveland recently ahead of the NBA Draft.
Simmons is the top prospect for the Thursday’s NBA Draft and is expected to be selected by the Philadelphia 76ers, who own the No. 1 pick. James revealed that he is guiding Simmons about how to handle the professional league’s pressure.
“As a mentor to him, as a big brother to him, I also give him a lot of advice on what to expect when he makes his jump next week and how to handle it,” James said, according to the ESPN.
James hailed the 19-year-old’s talent after describing himself as Simmons’ big brother.
I think he is a great young talent,” James continued.
“I think what he displays on the basketball court, we all notice.
“I think we all don’t know just yet how great a kid he is and how down to earth he is with the game of basketball and life in general.”
The LSU product has been compared with the four-time MVP and three-time NBA champion already due to his combination of size and passing ability, as reports the CBS Sports. But James went an extra mile to shower high praise on Ben Simmons because of his concern about Klutch Sports.
