NBA rumors are now swirling about the possible trade between the Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin and New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony.

According to a report from Inquisitr, the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks were both showing their frustrations after falling short in the recent season. There have been speculations that a one-on-one trade between the two teams are explored that could benefit both parties.

Fox Sports reported the numerous benefits to Anthony-Griffin trade:

“The general one-for-one All-Star swap is never not interesting. Here, the Clippers get an ideal offensive small-ball four who’s never really played with a brilliant pass-first point guard like Paul. Anthony can space the floor on Paul/Jordan pick-and-rolls, pop out behind the three-point line on high screens for Paul and still isolate whenever necessary as the walking heat check he is. Anthony isn’t a defensive stopper, and the Clippers still need more athleticism on the perimeter if they want to ever get past the second round, but this deal allows the team’s Big 3 to all complement each another in ways they currently can’t. Griffin for Anthony isn’t a secret. It’s long made sense for both sides—even if Griffin walks after one year—and it’d be awesome to see it happen. Anthony has a no-trade clause in his contract, but the opportunity to team up with his good friend Paul could be enough to waive it.”

It may seem to be not a fair trade for the Knicks since Griffin is still suffering from quad injury. But if it will be look upon a deeper perspective, it will benefit both teams in different ways.

Blake Griffin can be the missing piece in New York Knicks’ triangle offense. With his dominance under the basket and massive strength, he is undoubtedly suitable for the Knicks’ key strategy.

On the other hand, Carmelo Anthony can add to the Clippers scoring. He can be a great combination with Chris Paul since they already know how each other plays. Also, Paul is a past-first point guard and he will be needing a player who have a higher accuracy in the perimeter like Anthony.

If the trade rumors between Anthony and Griffin would be possible, we can see a huge difference with the performance of the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers and there is a possibility that either of the teams can be seen contending for the NBA championship title next season.
