Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Boston Celtics who are reportedly trading Avery Bradley and a future draft pick for Nerlens Noel of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers are frequently mentioned in various trade rumors this off-season, mainly involving the Sixers’ biggest men Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel. The arrival of Dario Saric and Joel Embiid created a logjam in the Sixers’ frontcourt.

Sixers general manager Bryan Colangelo expressed his intention to trade at least one of their big men to address some areas needed to improve on their roster. However, Colangelo stood firm that they are not trading Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel for cheap offers.

“We’re not going to make a bad deal just to make a deal. I think we can be a better basketball team if we can distribute that talent better. Maybe take one of those assets and address other needs on the roster. I think right now it’s best to say we like all of them, we want to see if we can make the most out of each of them. At the end of the day, the reality says one has to go at some point, but only when the deal is right.” Colangelo said on Sirius Radio.

According to Zach Harper of CBS Sports, the Philadelphia 76ers need to bolster their backcourt if they want to become a competitive next season. The Sixers currently have Jerry Bayless and are also planning to use Ben Simmons as their point guard.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are reportedly looking for a big man to partner with Al Horford. The Celtics have plenty of trade assets to offer, but could not make a deal as of now.

Recently, Nerlens Noel has been the center of controversy on Twitter. Though Noel simply expressed his feeling for his hometown, some people will take it as a hint about a possible trade happening in the future. Will Nerlens Noel be traded to Boston?

The Celtics could use Noel as a rim protector. Also, it will let Al Horford slip to the power forward position. In making this trade possible, the Celtics could offer Avery Bradley and a future draft pick to Sixers. This trade scenario works in the ‘ESPN Trade Machine’.

However, until the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers proceed with the deal, NBA fans can take this as a rumor for now. With the intention of both teams to become competitive next season, they are expected to make such move to improve their current roster.
