Doc Rivers has silenced all trade rumors that touch on a popular Blake Griffin trade or Chris Paul. But will he and the Clippers management be able to help it when both their star players hit the free agency in the summer of 2017?
The ideal set up for the Clippers perhaps is to continue with the mold they have now and build on it, hoping that their experience together will reach new heights when strengthened with future acquisitions.
Chris Paul and Blake Griffin have boosted the Clippers’ overall performance since they became part of the franchise that used to be one of the worst in the league.
They have become a consistent playoff contender for five years running, but end up short at the semis. Basketball analysts believe their chemistry needs a little push, an additional force to the core to finally make it through.
However, whether Doc Rivers and the Clippers management like it or not, this could all end up for nothing once their best players become free agents next summer.
Would they rather cross fingers and hope they don’t leave L.A. and lose them for nothing, or, should they treat the whole situations as it is- a business- and start being true to themselves by preparing to ship them before the trade deadline?
With LeBron James putting on his GM hat there is a good chance of it resulting to a Chris Paul trade to the Cavs. The two are close friends, and a future partnership was opened up as a mutual desire, in a report by Yibada.
If the Cavs is successful is fulfilling a Chris Paul trade it would give him a golden opportunity not just to team up with LeBron James, but to ultimately vie for the NBA championship spot.
By the same token, a Blake Griffin trade to Chicago would make the Dwyane Wade Bulls line up a strong contender against any of the best starters in the league, including the Cavs.
Adding Blake Griffin with Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler could rival the more popular set of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, according to a report by The Sports Daily.
Both Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo have the experience, while Blake Griffin and Jimmy Butler puts in the muscle and vigor.
Wouldn’t you agree that LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love would have a run for their money against them with the addition of Blake Griffin?
Wouldn’t a Chris Paul trade to the Cavs make sense to up the ante?
