Kevin Love played well in Game 7 of the NBA Finals and most games in the 2016 NBA Playoffs to the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA title. However, the power forward is seen as the weakest link among the Cavs’ “Big Three”. As Love struggled in some games this postseason, Love’s name has been in NBA rumors linking him to various NBA teams in need of a superstar.
What should the Cleveland Cavaliers do with Kevin Love this summer? Should they try to trade him and get players that will be a better fit with the Cavs featuring Lebron James, Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson? Is there a team willing to acquire Love, who will earn around $23 million per year in the next four seasons?
Here are the possible options for the Cleveland Cavaliers with regards to Kevin Love:
Stick with Kevin Love
Love was part of the team that brought Cleveland their first title in 52 years. The Cavs can choose to stick with Love and try to defend the title with the same line-up next season. Love struggled in some playoff games but he played very well in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Trade Kevin Love to Boston Celtics
NBA rumors have Love linked to the Boston Celtics since last year’s offseason and during the season. The Celtics need a superstar to improve their standing in the Eastern Conference and they have some players to offer the Cavaliers if they are willing to trade Love. Should the Cavaliers
Trade Kevin Love to the New York Knicks
LeBron James loves to play with his friends and he has one with the New York Knicks. A Carmelo Anthony for Kevin Love blockbuster deal will be the biggest this summer. The Cavs get more help on offense while Kevin Love can start over in New York.
Even though they’ve won the title, Kevin Love will be in NBA rumors this summer after the hangover of the championship passes in Cleveland as the Cavaliers think of ways to improve their team in their title defense next season.
