Philadelphia 76ers president for basketball operations, Bryan Colangelo admits it has a logjam with its big men and rumors are swirling that 76ers are keen on seeking a trade for Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, and Joel Embiid.
In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, Colangelo explained that they need to clear up some space to be able to give them the playing minutes that they deserve. He added that the team has some good talents but admits there is a certain unbalance that needs to be addressed right away. Colangelo added that they will have to send some of their big men somewhere but stressed that they will entertain deals as well.
“There’s no question you can look at our roster and say we have some unbalance. We’re top heavy. We have some good talent there. We have to figure out what we’re going to do with everybody. When you look at the calls coming in, quite frankly, everyone’s trying to poach a big man from us,” Colangelo said.

He added that if they will unload some of their big men like Okafor, it will not be for the sake of just getting a deal out of him. He added all of their players should be treated with respect and they will not be in a hurry to seek out any deal for him as well.
“We’re not going to make a bad deal just to make a deal. I think we can be a better basketball team if we can distribute that talent better. Maybe take one of those assets and address other needs on the roster. I think right now it’s best to say we like all of them, we want to see if we can make the most out of each of them. At the end of the day, the reality says one has to go at some point but only when the deal is right,” Colangelo explained.

Okafor has already stated that he does not want to be traded and that he wants to stay with the 76ers. But it seems that the 76ers are already shopping for a potential team that would be able to take him in. Okafor has been always linked with the Boston Celtics, and if everything falls into place then Okafor would be playing for the Celtic Nation soon.
But as Colangelo stressed, they are still listening to offers for Okafor. They are also listening to offers for Noel and Embiid. Okafor might have aired his frustrations on the fact that his team tried to trade him, but he cannot stop other teams from making inquiries about him.

The truth of the matter is that the 76ers is loaded with big men in its roster and Colangelo only wants best for the team and it would include trading players. Okafor, Noel, and Embiid must be ready for anything.
