NBA Rumors: DeMar DeRozan gives hints on his plan in the upcoming free agency, Raptors reveal replacement for DeRozan

Rumors and speculations are now circulating the Toronto Raptors star guard DeMar DeRozan who is expected to play for another franchise next season.

Speculations are heating up regarding DeRozan’s plan to be back in Los Angeles this summer and reports are saying that there are instances that he might choose to sign with the Lakers when he becomes a free agent.

“He’s made it very, very clear that he wants to be in L.A,” Smith said via Lakers Nation. “He has family out there. He’s from out there. He wants to be in L.A. He wants to wear the purple and gold, and if there’s a way for it to happen, again he’s restricted, if there’s a way for it to happen, DeMar DeRozan will be in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform next season.”

DeMar DeRozan is one of the top targets of the Los Angeles Lakers in the free agency market. The team is currently undergoing a rebuilding process and will be having enough salary cap to sign two maximum-salaried players. With Kobe Bryant’s retirement, DeRozan can be the perfect replacement as the new face of the Lakers in the incoming years.

According to Raptors Rapture, the Toronto Raptors are already making plans once DeRozan choose to play for another franchise next season. The team is planning to hire Nando De Colo, the 2015-16 Euroleague Most Valuable Player. De Colo is expected to be back in the NBA next season and many NBA teams are eyeing to get the service of the Euroleague’s best scorer.

If DeRozan decided not to sign with his current team, the Raptors will be having enough salary cap in order to acquire De Colo to play for them next season. Also, the Raptors’ current achievement in the 2015-16 NBA season can be a huge factor for the Euroleague’s MVP to sign for their team.

However, DeMar DeRozan’s decision is not yet final since the Toronto Raptors is still battling with the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference semifinals. There is a possibility that DeRozan’s decision may vary according to the result of the Game 7 against the Heat.
