The Indiana Pacers have some moves to make this offseason to build on their solid 2015-16 season that saw them make the playoffs. According to the latest NBA rumors, the Pacers may be interested in acquiring Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls.
Indiana almost made it to the second round but they were outlasted by the second-best team in the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors, in seven games. Team president Larry Bird also let go of head coach Frank Vogel after six years of service.
Besides finding a new head coach, the Pacers will have to make some decisions on improving their roster to contend with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the rest of suddenly competitive eastern conference teams.

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors suggested that the Pacers should try to acquire Derrick Rose, who will be a free agent after the 2016-17 season, from the Bulls. Rose has not regained his All-Star form following a handful of serious injuries and a change of scenery might be helpful to both parties.
The Bulls had a very disappointing season wherein they failed to qualify for the postseason since the 2008-09 season. Chicago may decide that they will rebuild and trading Rose, as well as Jimmy Butler, might be their priority.
The Pacers are in need of a second scoring option after Paul George and that is where Rose comes in perfectly. Nonetheless, these are all just suggestions and speculations regarding the future of Indiana, Chicago and some of their players.

Myron also mentioned the possibility of revisiting the George Hill for Jeff Teague with the Atlanta Hawks or going after Ricky Rubio. The Minnesota Timberwolves point guard is now under ex-Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau and he might not be willing to transact with his former team.
On the other hand, the Pacers could always improve their team via free agency. They could go after Indianapolis native Mike Conley or Warriors swingman Harrison Barnes. The Pacers still has a superstar in Paul George, but he has also been linked with trade rumors.
