NBA Rumors: Frank Vogel serious in taking the Orlando Magic head coach position

NBA rumors are now swirling the former Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel who is reportedly being considered by the Orlando Magic to mentor their team next season.

While the 2015-16 NBA season nearing to an end, four NBA teams, including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors, are currently battling to grab the championship title. On the other hand, the rest of the teams are undergoing a rebuilding process to build a more competitive team, including the Orlando Magic who are currently searching for their new head coach.

Frank Vogel has been part of a different coaching search after he was fired by the Indiana Pacers. Pacers President Larry Bird decided not to renew Vogel’s contract after realizing that he was not the type of coach who can execute his preferred system for the team. Since Vogel was fired, many NBA teams, who are looking for a new head coach, are lining up to get the service of the veteran coach.

According to a report from Yahoo Sports, Frank Vogel met with the Orlando Magic officials on Monday for the head coach vacancy. The Memphis Grizzlies and the New York Knicks have also set an appointment with Vogel, but reports say that the former Pacers coach is more interested in the Magic job.

Frank Vogel is undeniably a good coach, knowing that he managed to bring the Indiana Pacers in four playoffs and two Eastern Conference finals appearances. It is a no-brainer to consider him for the head coach position. With Orlando Magic’s young and skilled talents, it would be best for them to hire a veteran coach like Vogel, who has many playoffs experience.

Another candidate is said to be topping the list for the Orlando Magic position is Magic assistant coach Adrian Griffin.
