Rumors and speculations are continuing to swirl around Houston Rockets star guard James Harden who is reported to be traded by the team in the upcoming offseason.
The rumors about Harden started after the disappointing loss of the Houston Rockets against the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Many have noticed the lack of chemistry of the team that led them to be unable to execute their full potential against their opponent. Sports analysts and writers speculated that we will no longer see James Harden and Dwight Howard in the same team next season.
The Rockets’ team controversies were fuelled more after their interim head coach J.B. Bickerstaff expressed his intention to leave the team and informed the team officials that he will not take part in the Rockets’ search for the new head coach. Bickerstaff was undeniably a good coach since he managed to take the Rockets in the playoffs despite the team’s lack of chemistry.
There were also rumors that Dwight Howard will be playing for another team next season. The reason is more on the dispute between him and Harden regarding being the main focus in the offensive end. Some said that Harden should give way for Howard in order to unleash the full potential of the Rockets center.
Rockets could be open to trading Harden since they are not sure if there are teams willing to have a one-on-one superstar deal. Despite having an explosive performance in the offensive end, many have noticed James Harden lack of effort in the defensive end. This maybe one of the factors why the Rockets are having a hard time making their preferred trade.
According to abc News, there are four potential Harden trades where both parties will benefit. These include:
- Boston Celtics Isaiah Thomas, David Lee and draft pick
- Los Angeles Lakers D’Angelo Russell
- Denver Nuggets Danilo Gallinari, Gary Harris and draft pick
- Orlando Magic Victor Oladipo, Aaron Gordon and draft pick
The Rockets should also consider hiring a head coach that can surely manage to instruct his players well in order to execute a specific strategy efficiently. The Rockets should use the time in the off-season to rebuild a team that can compete to a higher level next season.
