Knicks to trade Courtney Lee, Kyle O’Quinn, and 1st round pick for 76ers’ Jahlil Okafor
Knicks are trying to fill in the pieces for their rebuilding for next season and rumors are swirling that the Knicks will offer Courtney Lee, Kylee O’Quinn, and a first round pick for Philadelphia 76ers’ big man Jahlil Okafor.

Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the New York Knicks who are reportedly offering Kyle O’Quinn, Justin Holiday, and future draft picks for Jahlil Okafor of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The New York Knicks are one of the NBA teams who dreamt of becoming a title contender next season. To fulfill his promise, Knicks president Phil Jackson acquired quality players this offseason to surround Carmelo Anthony and create a championship team.

In June, the Knicks first addressed their point guard problem by acquiring Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls. Rose might have suffered injuries in the past, but he is currently doing his best to be back in MVP form. In free agency, Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee. and Brandon Jennings joined the Knicks.

On paper, there is no doubt that the Knicks can be considered as one of the most competitive teams in the 2016-17 NBA season. However, three of their key players are injury prone, including center Joakim Noah. Finding a backup center who also has the ability to start will be important if the Knicks are serious in contending for the title next season.

In the past months, the New York Knicks are frequently mentioned in various trade rumors linking to Philadelphia 76ers big man Jahlil Okafor. With the arrival of Dario Saric, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid, the Sixers currently have a crowded frontcourt. This created the rumors that they will be trading either Okafor or Nerlens Noel.

However, before they came, Noel and Okafor were already mentioned in trade rumors mainly because of their chemistry on the court. The two big men cannot coexist and showed poor performance when both of them were inside the court.

According to All About Knicks, Jahlil Okafor will be a good trade option for the Knicks. In his rookie season, Okafor averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. The 20-year-old big man is also a good low post scorer.

In a suggested trade scenario, the Knicks could offer Kyle O’Quinn, Justin Holiday, and future draft picks for Jahlil Okafor. O’Quinn and Holiday may be considered as role players but the future draft picks could be a good compensation for Okafor.

NBA fans should note that these are just rumors that may or may not happen before the trade deadline. As of now, the Sixers are expected to test their three big men next season. Should the Sixers struggle again, expect one of their big men to be moved to other teams.
