NBA Rumors: Kevin Durant sees a better version of him in Brandon Ingram

With the accomplishment that the Oklahoma City Thunder had this post season, rumors are swirling that Kevin Durant will most likely stay and re-sign with the team and make another run this coming season.

Lakers shooting guard Brandon Ingram has been frequently compared to Warriors superstar Kevin Durant because of their similarities. Both forwards stand 6-foot-9 with a skinny build and have identical moves inside the court.

Before NBA free agency hit, many were expecting that the Los Angeles Lakers will be an attractive destination after future Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant decided to retire. Unfortunately, no superstar free agent has the courage to become the next face of the franchise, even Kevin Durant.

“I really respect their team, but I think they’re a couple years away from where I want to be,” Durant said when asked about the Lakers, per Kurt Helin of NBC Sports.

Kevin Durant decided to join the Golden State Warriors because of one major reason – to win his first NBA championship title. Though many were disappointed with this decision, the 27-year-old small forward chose to follow his heart than what others said.

In spite of this, the Los Angeles Lakers still find a future superstar in the NBA draft. Brandon Ingram was chosen the No.2 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Based on his physical appearance and the way he plays on the court, he was frequently compared to Kevin Durant.

In the recent practice of the Team USA, Brandon Ingram was given the chance to face Kevin Durant as part of USA Select team.

Having the same positions in two opposing teams, Kevin Durant and Brandon Ingram guarded and watched each other’s moves. Durant admitted that Ingram was a little more advanced than he was at that stage.

“First person I can say, that I can look at him and feel like I’m looking in the mirror,” Durant said Tuesday when asked about Ingram after Team USA practice.

Kevin Durant and Brandon Ingram have similarities with how they play inside the court. If Ingram continues to improve his frame and performance, there is no doubt that he can be the next Kevin Durant of NBA.
