Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Oklahoma City Thunder who are reportedly trading Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and Anthony Morrow for Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be facing the 2016-17 NBA season without Kevin Durant on their team. With the departure of KD, Russell Westbrook is set to become the new face of the franchise. Though the Thunder are still expected to battle for the playoffs, they are now questionable to contend for the title with only one superstar on their team.

The Thunder were frequently involved in various trade rumors in the past months, mainly pertaining their need to acquire another superstar to pair with Russell Westbrook. Blake Griffin has been the most favorite target for the Thunder, but the Los Angeles Clippers have been reluctant to entertain any offer.

According to Quenton Albertie of King James Gospel, the Oklahoma City Thunder could engage in a trade deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers to acquire Kevin Love. The Cavs’ power forward was rumored to be on the trading block after his poor performance in the recent NBA Finals.

With the Cavaliers eyeing to repeat as a champion, they are definitely in need of  more consistent starters than they had last season, especially with the emergence of the Warriors’ ‘Super Team’. It was very noticeable how Kevin Love finds it hard to adjust from being the main man to becoming a sidekick of LeBron James.

Love used to be the main focus when he was still playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Playing alongside the best player in the planet will force him to change the way he used to play the game. Albertie noted that a trade to Oklahoma City Thunder would be a dream scenario for Kevin Love.

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love were teammates in UCLA. The 28-year-old power forward revealed on The Player’s Tribune that Westbrook was the first teammate he met when he entered the campus. Since then, the two superstars had a close relationship and treat each other as a family.

If the Thunder will be interested in acquiring Love, they could send Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and Anthony Morrow to Cleveland Cavaliers. This works on the ESPN trade machine. As of now, there is no reason for the Cavaliers to pursue the deal since they passed on selecting Oladipo in the 2013 NBA draft.

If the Cleveland Cavaliers see a need to improve on their roster, they might pursue a trade before the deadline.
