Kevin Love continues to be part of the NBA rumors suggesting that he’s on his way out of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even earlier this season, there were reports that Love was nearly traded to the Boston Celtics near the NBA trade deadline last February and rumors persist that the Cavaliers power forward will again be available for trades as the 2016 NBA Draft nears.
In his latest column, NBA insider Zach Lowe of ESPN confirmed that Boston and Cleveland had trade talks about a deal for Love during the trade deadline. Lowe also added that a “low-ball offer” from the Celtics turned off the Cavaliers in making a deal.
In the same report, Lowe also stated that he sees other NBA teams being aggressive in trying to land Love in a trade right around the NBA draft, which will be held June 23 in New York later this year. NBA rumors surrounding Love is expected especially if LeBron James and the Cavaliers fail to win a championship this year.
“If they lose again, I’d bet big on Love being elsewhere — a split that might end up the best thing for everyone,” Lowe opined in his article.
Kevin Love, LeBron James and the Cavaliers are still the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference but they will be underdogs in the NBA Finals against the likes of the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, if they meet in the championship round.
Kevin Love’s relationship with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the rest of the Cavaliers have been good so far but the chemistry will be tested when the postseason starts. As suggested by Lowe, if the Cavaliers fail to win a title this season, the team’s chemistry will again be questioned and Kevin Love will be one of the first Cavaliers to be included in NBA rumors of a trade.
