The Boston Celtics already have a complete roster for the 2016-17 NBA season. According to the latest NBA rumors, the Celtics will be trading for Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers to add a star power on their team.

The Boston Celtics are one of the NBA team who dreamt of becoming a title contender next season. The Celtics tried to upgrade their roster this summer and succeeded to acquire Al Horford to boost their frontcourt.

However, their current roster is still questionable to contend for the NBA championship title next season. According to Jorge Sierra of HoopsHype, there’s still not enough star power on their roster. Sierra suggested that the Celtics should add another creative scorer who can give veteran leadership on their team.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Boston Celtics, and the Cleveland Cavaliers would be good trade partners. Despite his poor performance in the past seasons, the Celtics are long been rumored to be interested in Kevin Love. The Celtics currently have plenty of trade assets to offer to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kevin Love has been involved in different trade rumors in the past months. His performance in the past two seasons in Cleveland did not live up to expectations, especially in the recent NBA Finals. However, Love has been a proven All-Star when he was still playing in Minnesota.

In the 2013-14 NBA season, Kevin Love averaged 36.1 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 36.3 minutes per game. However, when he was traded to the Cavaliers, his statistics tremendously gone down to 16.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 33.8 minutes per game.

What people don’t see on Kevin Love is that he needs to sacrifice his type of play for LeBron James. Love used to be the main focus before he was traded. However, he needed to undergo certain adjustment to be fitted to the Cavaliers.

If the Boston Celtics pursue the trade, Kevin Love will undoubtedly regain his All-Star performance. Al Horford is not a ball dominant big man. If the deal proceeds, the Love-Horford frontcourt could be the most versatile and offensively talented in the entire league.
