The Sacramento Kings have addressed their head coaching issues earlier this month by signing Dave Joerger to a four-year deal. However, the Kings still have a few things that need to improve and the latest rumors imply a trade for Denver Nuggets sixth man Will Barton may be happening.
According to Nathan Beighle of Sir Charles in Charge, Barton will be a perfect fit in Sacramento either as a starter or a scorer off the bench. He ranked fourth in the 2016 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award voting after averaging 14.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in just 28.7 minutes per game while only starting one out of 82 games played.
This is Beighle’s proposed trade that the Kings and Nuggets should make before or on 2016 draft night:
- Sacramento Kings receive: 19th overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft and Will Barton
- Denver Nuggets receive: 8th overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft andMarco Belinelli

Barton also finished sixth in the 2016 Most Improved Player of the Year Award as he improved his scoring output about eight points per game. He was acquired by the Nuggets from the Portland Trail Blazers last season in the Arron Afflalo trade.
The 24-year-old also signed a three-year, $10.6 million contract extension at the start of the season that proved worth it for the Nuggets. Nonetheless, nothing can be confirmed if the Kings have any interest on Barton at the moment since these are all just speculations.

There is also the fact that Will Barton’s family has close ties with the family of Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly. BSN Denver noted in their report that both families have a working relationship that started in their hometown of Baltimore.
