After 52 years, LeBron James finally ended the curse of the Cleveland Cavaliers by giving them their long-awaited championship title. The 31-year-old small forward revealed in the past interviews that his main reason on why he returned to Cleveland is to give them a championship title. Now that he has finally accomplished his mission, what’s next for ‘The King’?
LeBron James has a player option for the 2016-17 NBA season. This means that he can explore the free agency market and seek for another team this summer. Though he has not yet revealed his decision, there are speculations that he might take a trip to Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, or New York Knicks once he decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers.

New York Knicks
The New York Knicks represent one of the most storied franchise in the NBA in the nation’s top media market. According to Marc Berman of New York Post:
“So there’s no doubt James eventually will have a wandering eye, and he’s on record as saying the Garden is his favorite building and that he wished he could play all 82 games there. It’s just a matter of when. If he doesn’t opt out, he would make $24 million next season. If he opts out and signs another two-year deal with an opt-out, he’d make $30 million next season with the cap’s huge rise. It’s a no-brainer.”
It is not a secret to everyone about the connection between LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. There were previous rumors that James wants to build a ‘superteam’ and he wants Anthony to be on his side when that happens.
The Miami Heat is one of the possible destination for LeBron James. Even before the Cavaliers win the title, there were speculations that he will be teaming up with his pal Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh again. Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical believes that James will get to run off with his ‘buddies’ again somewhere warm. He won his first two NBA title in the Heat so there is a possibility that he wants to continue his legacy there.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the prestigious teams in the NBA. The team has created numerous NBA legends and they are currently in need of a superstar after Kobe Bryant’s retirement. The Lakers can give him a maximum salary once he decided to sign and he will surely attract other superstars in the free agency market.
Laker Nation: The Lakers should call LeBron James agent. We know he's going stay in CLE but they should go after him just in case he leaves.
