NBA rumors initially circulated regarding the possibility of free agent Norris Cole in joining the Cavaliers, and of a possible trade between the Warriors for Andre Iguodala.
Given the level of talent Andre Iguodala has coupled with his experience he would be a great addition to the defending champions. His value as a former NBA Finals MVP would translate into volumes in terms of leadership when the Cavs will make an attempt to defend their title, plus he is a great addition defensively.
But these are just about the same facts that make us wonder why the Warriors won’t do anything within their power to keep their small forward/shooting guard. The acquisition of Kevin Durant has weakened their 2nd unit, and losing Andre Iguodala doesn’t make sense.
So we are down with Norris Cole who is in a better position to end up with Cleveland, according to a report by CSN.
At 27 years of age, Norris Cole is a rising star and is already a 2x NBA champion during his Miami Heat days with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
With the Pelicans he missed their first 17 games due to injury but has bounced back gradually and is now healthy with an average of 10.6 ppg and 3.7 apg.
Wouldn’t be an ideal scenario for him to reunite with LeBron James as an NBA champion once again in Cleveland, as NBA rumors suggest?
According to a report by Yibada Norris Cole would be a perfect addition to their roster especially with J.R. Smith’s contract still in dispute. This could mean the aging Mo Williams could retire, or play less time, and Kyrie Irving could be placed on the two position and focus on his scoring.
In terms of chemistry, Cole has been accustomed to LeBron James style of play and is expected to gel with minimal trouble.
His presence would be very vital in the Cavs attempt to enhance their offense, and he could fill in where Matthew Dellavedova had vacated when he moved to the Milwaukee Bucks.
