Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Toronto Raptors who are reportedly sending four players to the Atlanta Hawks to acquire power forward Paul Millsap.

According to David Rouben of Fansided, the Toronto Raptors were recently involved in Serge Ibaka trade and were reportedly trading the 9th overall pick, Cory Joseph, Patrick Patterson, and Norman Powell. However, the Orlando Magic won the deal by sending Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova and Domantas Sabonis to acquire the Thunder power forward.

The 2015-16 NBA playoffs showed that the Toronto Raptors need to make an adjustment in their frontcourt, especially at the power forward position. They have proven the effectiveness of Jonas Valanciunas, Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, and Bismack Biyombo in their lineup but still need to improve in order to beat the reigning Eastern Conference champions.

Neither Jonas Valanciunas nor Bismack Biyombo is fitted to the power forward position since they used to play as the man in the middle. After losing in the Serge Ibaka trade, there are speculations that the Toronto Raptors will try other options.

According to TSN Canada, the Toronto Raptors tried to offer the ninth overall pick in the recent NBA draft for Paul Millsap. However, the offer was obviously not enough to make the deal. They should add more players in order for the offer to more attractive.

They could give the same offer to acquire Serge Ibaka. The Toronto Raptors are eager to contend for the NBA championship next season so acquiring Paul Millsap really makes sense. Bismack Biyombo can be a trade piece but he is threatened to leave the Toronto Raptors in free agency.

Though he chooses to stay, Biyombo is still expected to serve as the backup center for Jonas Valanciunas. Many speculated that this would create a rift between the two big men since they are both capable for the starting position. If the Raptors succeed in re-signing him, there is a possibility that he will be a trade piece to acquire Paul Millsap.

If not, the Raptors can send Jakob Poeltl, Cory Joseph, Patrick Patterson, and Norman Powell to Atlanta Hawks. Once they succeed in acquiring Millsap, there is a larger possibility that the Toronto Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers will be facing once again in the Eastern Conference Finals.
