Ray Allen expressed his intention to return to the NBA. According to the latest NBA rumors, Allen will choose between his former teams Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics to play for the 2016-17 NBA season.
Ray Allen is one of the NBA veterans who dreamt of returning to the NBA. Though he is still a free agent, most people believe that Allen is the most deserving veteran to return to the hardwood.
When Allen made the announcement, there were rumors that he will be joining former teammate, LeBron James, in the Cleveland Cavaliers. Some said that he was also interested in joining the runner-up Golden State Warriors.
However, the 41-year-old said that he wants to play with a team that needs him and not necessarily a championship-caliber team.
“I would love going back to those places if it worked out,” Allen said, “because both teams are good, too. It doesn’t necessarily have to be championship-or-bust for me to go back to the NBA.
“I want to be in a situation where I thought I could help, play a little bit and help where they have good young talent.”
Recently, there are speculations that Ray Allen has cut his options to two teams – the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks. Allen has played for both teams before. He started his career in Milwaukee while he won his first NBA championship title in Boston.
According to Ananth Pandian of CBS Sports, Ray Allen won’t be having a hard time finding a team in need of his service. Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said that their main priority this summer is shooting.
Ray Allen only stopped playing for two years. It will only take a short time for him to get back his rhythm. The plethora of shirtless photos in his Instagram account proved that he is still in an excellent shape.
Other teams who are reportedly interested in signing Ray Allen are the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, and the New York Knicks.
