NBA Rumors: Sixers considering drafting Ingram over Simmons? Or Philadelphia to acquire No. 2 pick?

Presumptive No. 1 draft pick Ben Simmons has opted not to workout with the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers and rumors are swirling that he might end up with the Boston Celtics right after the NBA Draft.

The Philadelphia 76ers have apparently scheduled a private workout with one of the top prospects in the 2016 NBA Draft in Brandon Ingram. However, there are already NBA rumors that the Sixers are taking Ben Simmons as the No. 1 pick.

Could Philadelphia be thinking twice about getting the Australian and will choose Ingram? Or could the Sixers be planning to draft both by acquiring the No. 2 pick from the Los Angeles Lakers?

Shams Charania from Yahoo Sports’ The Vertical confirmed Ingram’s session with the Sixers

Earlier this offseason, there were NBA rumors that the Sixers are planning to trade Nerlens Noel to the Atlanta Hawks for point guard Jeff Teague. Philadelphia is also being mentioned in trading another big man Jahlik Okafor, who is reportedly being made available to at least 15 teams.

One of the teams mentioned interested in Okafor are the Los Angeles Lakers, who badly need a center in their line-up and who might consider giving up the No. 2 pick in the deal.

The Lakers are not the only one linked to Philadelphia as the Boston Celtics are also willing trade partners according to some reports. The Celtics have the No. 3 pick but it’s doubtful that Ingram is available at that spot for the 2016 NBA Draft.

Ingram working out with the Sixers will add to the NBA rumors that they might be thinking twice of drafting Simmons. Philadelphia and Los Angeles could also swap picks and involve some of their current players.
