Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves who are reportedly having trade talks involving Rudy Gay, Trevor Ariza, and Ricky Rubio.
Rudy Gay has been involved in multiple trade rumors this offseason. The Kings were reportedly trying to move the 29-year-old small forward. There are speculations that Kings GM Vlade Divac has already found an interested team who wants to acquire Gay to a one-year rental – the Houston Rockets.
“League sources say while there are teams that have expressed interest in Gay – most notably the Houston Rockets – getting anything of real value back to what could be a one-year rental at Gay’s price tag is hard math to make work.” Steve Kyler of Basketball Insider reported.
The Sacramento Kings currently need to bolster their backcourt. According to Arthur Mill of Hoops Rumors, Ricky Rubio will be a good fit on the Kings’ roster. The Kings are threatened to lose their PG Darren Collison after being involved in a domestic violence case.
The problem is that the Minnesota Timberwolves are not interested in Rudy Gay. Now that Tom Thibodeau is their new head coach, the Timberwolves are expected to focus on defense. There are rumors that the Kings, Rockets, and the Timberwolves could facilitate a blockbuster deal.
Darren Yuvan of The Dream Shake reported that the Rockets could offer Trevor Ariza or Corey Brewer with the addition of a minimum piece, K.J. McDaniels, to acquire Rudy Gay. Daryl Morey and the Rockets will surely prefer Brewer over Ariza. However, the Timberwolves would definitely choose a tough wing defender like Ariza.
#Twolves FO had another personnel meeting today. Bottom-line: the current 15 isn't the 15 they envision in a few months. Wing, PG = targets.

The main trade scenario will be Ricky Rubio to Kings, Rudy Gay to Rockets, and Trevor Ariza to Timberwolves. If this trade succeeds, this will help all of the three teams in filling up the areas needed to improve on their roster.
The Kings, Rockets, and the Timberwolves have shown interest to acquire the players involved in the said trade rumors. It is likely that the deal will happen before the 2016-17 NBA season starts.
