Harrison Barnes of the Golden State Warriors will be a restricted free agent when the NBA season comes to a close and rumors are swirling that he could be lured to a sign-and-trade deal with fellow free agent Nicolas Batum of the Charlotte Hornets.

The Golden State Warriors have plans to sign Kevin Durant in free agency but if that plan fails, they have a Plan B and that’s to sign French forward Nicolas Batum, who is also a free agent this summer, according to the latest NBA rumors.

Durant has been linked to multiple NBA teams this summer and when free agency officially opens July 1 there are NBA rumors that the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar will consider up to six teams, 2 from the Eastern Conference and 4 from the Western Conference.

One of the West teams according to NBA rumors are the Warriors, which already features stars like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Adding Durant this summer will make Golden State even stronger next season after they’ve made the championship round in the last two years.

Nicolas Batum is not Kevin Durant but he has had a good career so far in the NBA. He played the first seven years in the league with the Portland Trail Blazers where he has proven that he can be a versatile player on offense and defense. Batum was traded to the Charlotte Hornets before last season and averaged 14.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists. reports that Batum along with Evan Turner (Boston Celtics) are among the players being looked at the Golden State management, according to sources. If the Warriors sign Durant, Batum or any other top free agent, it’s most likely that they are letting go of Harrison Barnes in free agency.
