The league’s about to start a new season in a couple of weeks but offseason NBA trade rumors are still far from falling off the radar. According to recent NBA buzz, Brandon Knight of the Phoenix Suns is now being rumored to be involved in a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.
In an article posted by Parent Herald, in an effort to upgrade their roster, the Suns are being rumored to have Knight traded. Among their players on the trading block are guards Eric Bledsoe and Knight and chances are, Knight is going to be the one wearing a different jersey this upcoming season.
“Knight has always conceived of himself as a classic point guard, but that’s not what he is, and the Suns may be nudging him toward his destiny as a Jamal Crawford type.” ESPN’s Zach Lowe told in an article. “The cap spike accidentally made it acceptable — and in some cases, unavoidable — for teams to bring big-money players off the bench.”
Lowe speculated that the Suns are not going to trade Bledseo anytime soon which means Knight has the highest chance of eviction.
“The Suns might actually prefer to trade Knight who, while younger, bigger and a bit more durable, isn’t the decision-maker or dynamic scorer that Bledsoe is.” Chad Ford, ESPN, said.
Meanwhile, if a deal with the 76ers pursue, possible exchange for Knight would either be Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor since the two big men have long been rumored to exit the team this season.
