New York Knicks president Phil Jackson finally breaks his silence on the rumors circulating around Kristaps Porzingis. Jackson confirmed the rumors and revealed that they are receiving offers for the Latvian center.

“We’re getting calls. As much as we value Kristaps and what he’s done for us when a guy doesn’t show up for an exit meeting, everybody starts speculating on the duration or movability from a club,” Jackson said in an interview on MSG Network. “So we’ve been getting calls and we’re listening, but we’re not intrigued yet at this level. But as much as we love this guy, we have to do what’s good for our club.”

NBA Rumors: Should the Knicks trade Kristaps Porzingis?

Trade rumors started to swirl around Kristaps Porzingis after he decided to skip the exit meeting with the Knicks. Porzingis was extremely frustrated with the team’s dysfunction and the drama surrounding the franchise. To spice up the rumors, Knicks president Phil Jackson revealed that nobody on the team is untouchable.

In his first two seasons with the Knicks, Porzingis showed his capability to become a superstar in the league. With the nearing departure of Carmelo Anthony, most people see him as the next face of the Knicks’ franchise. However, Jackson doesn’t think the Latvian center is ready enough to carry the team.

The “Zen Master” definitely knows the assets they can get by trading Porzingis. So far, the Knicks have engaged in trade talks with each team positioned in the top five in the lottery.

“The future, you know, what it brings,” Jackson said. “Does it bring us two starters and a draft pick or something that’s even beyond that? [That’s] something we have to look at as far as going down the road. We know what he is. He’s a unicorn and he’s special.”

NBA Rumors: Kristaps Porzingis to Suns, Celtics

The Boston Celtics emerged as one of the NBA teams who could be interested in adding Porzingis on their team. They currently have enough assets to make a deal with the Knicks. To acquire the Latvian center, the Celtics will need to send the No. 3 pick and a young player to the Knicks.

The Knicks are reportedly interested in drafting Josh Jackson, who’s expected to be a top-5 pick. Aside from Boston, the Phoenix Suns, who hold the No. 4 pick, also engaged in a trade discussion with the Knicks. The Suns offered Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender.
