The big men in the NBA are slowly coming back with players such as DeMarcus Cousins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Hassan Whiteside, DeAndre Jordan and Joel Embiid taking over. However, one rising NBA big man believes he is the best in the league at the moment.

Rudy Gobert says he’s the best big man in the NBA

In an interview with ESPN, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert said that he is the best big man in the league at the moment. He noted that he takes it as a challenge to become more consistent as the season goes on. He currently anchors Utah’s defense during their 11-2 stretch.

“To be honest, right now, I think it’s me. But it’s a long season. I just try to take every game as a challenge. The hardest thing is to do it for the full season,” Gobert said.

How good is Rudy Gobert this season?

During their 11-2 run in the past month, the Stifle Tower is averaging 15.1 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game. He is also shooting a whopping 76.5 percent from the field. But the best stat during the 13 games is the Jazz have outscored their opponents by 130 points when Gobert is on the floor.

And in the season, Gobert is averaging career highs with 12.3 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. He is helping the Jazz reach their potential despite the injuries to players like George Hill and Derrick Favors.

Who is the best big man in the NBA today?

There will be a lot of different answers for this question but the NBA is starting to have a variety of big men that can really play. DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Andre Drummond, Hassan Whiteside, Joel Embiid and DeAndre Jordan all have the case in the saying that they are the best big man in the NBA today.
