Warriors fans welcome Kevin Durant warmly in Team USA exhibition game in Golden State

By on

Isn’t it a nice place to play Kevin? Durant got a warm Oracle welcome as Team USA destroyed China once again in a tuneup game. This was the second game between the two national teams this week.

The first game saw China lose by a total of 49 points, 106-57. Curiously, China also got the same total score in their second game against the Americans. China lost by a margin of 50 points this time, 107-57.

Although it was just another exhibition game for Team USA, they once again showed their class over their opponents. The Americans have never been threatened with their first tuneup game against Argentina and the recent game against China.

The Oracle Arena was loud as 86 minutes before the match, the fans shouted “KD! KD!” according to Scott Howard-Cooper of the NBA.com. The appreciation of the fans to Durant was even more than his new Warriors teammates, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. This was evident during the pregame introductions of the players.

A former Warriors player, Harrison Barnes, was also given a decent ovation by the Warriors supporters as he was now traded to the Mavericks.

Moving on, Durant had a rousing start to the game. He scored a total of 13 points in the first half as China never recovered from a 28-point deficit. The team as a whole was paced with the 21 points of DeMarcus Cousins and the 20 points of Carmelo Anthony.

Though Kevin only got 13 points in total, the amount of support that the fans gave him is all music to his ears. This is also a sign of things to come for the Golden State Warriors on the next season.
