The Golden State Warriors are looking for their record-breaking 73rd win of the season when they host the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies at the Oracle Arena on Wednesday. Here is the Warriors vs Grizzlies game preview complete with the TV schedule and live stream link.
It will be a crazy final regular season day for the NBA with 14 games on April 13 but the two biggest are the Warriors’ pursuit of history and the final game of Kobe Bryant’s legendary career. However, Steph Curry thinks that Golden State deserves the attention they are getting.
“We have an opportunity to do something that no one has done. So many great players have suited up, and for us 15 guys to say we’ve accomplished something as a group that’s never been done before, that’s remarkable. We earned the right to have a 48-minute game to eclipse the mark, and we have to go out and finish the job,” Curry told SFGate.
The Warriors are 38-2 at their home court with the two losses coming against the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves. The defending champions are not going to let the rare opportunity to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls record of 72 wins.
As for the Grizzlies, the team plagued by injuries is looking to play the spoilers as their team is assembled for toughness. They pushed the Warriors in their recent matchup on April 9 when they narrowly lost 100-99.
However, Golden State has the momentum going into the game as they have a three-game winning streak that includes two wins against the San Antonio Spurs.
