The Los Angeles Rams picked Cal’s Jared Goff as the number one overall draft pick in the recent 2016 NFL draft on Thursday night.
Many were shocked about the Rams’ decision to make Goff land the top spot in the draft. However, there were already speculative reports that predicted Goff will be the number one pick.
After Goff was picked by the Rams, Philadelphia Eagles grabbed Carson Wentz as the second overall draft pick as expected. However, Wentz seemed to be upset after not being taken as the number one overall pick.
According to a report from Yahoo Sports, there were no specific reason the Rams chose Goff over Wentz, but cleared that the Rams were just feeling more comfortable taking Goff as their top choice after giving up two first-round, two second-round and two third-round picks with the Tennessee Titans to move up to the number overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft.
Many people believed that Carlos Wentz was a project who will be needing a lot of work and that the Los Angeles Rams went on a safe route with Goff.
For now, the decision is already with Jared Goff’s hands on how he will prove the NFL world that he is really worthy to be the number overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft.
