Beleaguered quarterback Johnny Manziel has finally acknowledged that he has “issues” that he needs to work with for him to come clean and be able to play in the NFL’s 2016 season.
Many people have extended their helping hand for Manziel to get professional help even his agent Drew Rosenhaus has given him an ultimatum. However, with the recent activities of the 23-year old Tyler, Texas native especially with his visible partying at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Rosenhaus has officially cut ties with him. USA Today reported that Manziel stated Tuesday that he is focused on addressing the issues that are hounding his football career and thank those who have never given up on him just yet.
“I’m hoping to take care of the issues in front of me now so I can focus on what I have to do if I want to play in 2016. I also continue to be thankful to those who really know me and support me,” Manziel said.
To make matters worse for Manziel, he sets to appear Thursday before a grand jury for a misdemeanor case that stemmed from the allege assault and battery from his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley. The Dallas Country District Attorney will be representing him in the case that would get him $4,000 for fines and a one-year jail time if found guilty.
“So many people only have one image of Jonathan but, believe it or not, he takes all this very seriously. He’s hoping that he can clear up his personal issues, start interviewing agents and see what he needs to do if he wants to play this year,” Denise Michaels, Manziel’s spokesperson, said.
It seemed that Manziel did not care about his personal woes as he was at the Coachella Valley festival, wasted and as seen aware of what he was doing. Page Six wrote that a source stated that a former Heisman Trophy winner was all over the place partying.
“He arrived wasted, partied wasted and stayed wasted. It appeared as if [Manziel] crashed their [Scott Disick and Kendall and Kylie Kenner] table. He poured himself drinks from their bottles. He was stumbling as [singer] Post Malone hit the stage . . . He was dancing and sweaty,” the source narrated.
Manziel has to get his acts together if he really wants to get back his life. He has taken the first step and that is to acknowledge that he has “issues” that needs to be resolved. As to how he will resolve those “issues,” it remains to be seen.
