The New York Giants turned to their defense in the fourth quarter in their Week 10 game against the Cincinnati Bengals to notch the 21-20 victory on Monday Night Football.
The Giants had the 14-10 lead at halftime but the Bengals shut them down in the third quarter and produced a touchdown and a field goal to get the 20-10 lead entering the final quarter.
The Giants returned the favor in the fourth, scoring early and then put on a good defensive display at home. New York shut down Cincinnati in the final quarter.
Eli Manning had 240 passing yards on 28-of-44 completions and finished with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Odell Beckham Jr. had 97 receiving yards on 10 catches with one touchdown while Rashad Jennings had 87 rushing yards on 15 carries.
The Giants improved to 4-1 at home and 6-3 overall. New York was on a three-game losing streak last month but they now have won four straight games. The Giants still trail the Dallas Cowboys (8-1) by two games for top of the NFC East but they have vastly improved their chance at a postseason slot.
New York gets lucky in the next two weeks also with easy games against the Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns in their next two games. They will also meet division rivals Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles in the second half of the regular season.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are continuing to struggle in AFC North. At 3-5-1, they need a great finish to the season if they want to make the playoffs.
