Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will be out in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts due to a knee injury. The veteran RB is coming off an ACL tear from last season and is experiencing soreness on the same knee.
Last game versus the New Orleans Saints, Charles got only two snaps. This season he has 40 years on 12 carries so far. The Chiefs have been going more to Spencer Ware, who is one of the leaders in the NFL in rushing.
According to Mark Sessler of NFL.com, the there is no rush to bring him back for Kansas City, who has played well this season.
Ware has played well leading the team with 492 rushing yards on 95 attempts with two touchdowns. Other Chiefs who will carry the load for Kansas City with the Charles injury are Charcandrick West and Tyreek Hill.
The report confirmed that Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made the decision of resting him Sunday vs. the Colts, which are 6-1 against Kansas City at home in the last seven meetings in Indianapolis.
The Chiefs are 4-2 this season just half a game behind AFC West leaders Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, both of which are at 5-2. The Chiefs got a big win over the Raiders two weeks ago and will meet the Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers in their next three games.
Kansas City aims to extend their winning streak to three with the road game against the Colts.
