Eric Ebron plays as a tight end for the Detroit Lions. He is a young prospect who is a former top 10 pick in a draft. But he still has yet to prove why he deserved his draft position.
He is looking for a breakout season next year to impress his team.
However, disaster struck his hope recently. This is because he might have suffered an Achilles tendon injury, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapaport.
The accident happened during their Lions practice. But Ebron denied that he had a serious injury based on Rapaport’s report. The Lions’ tight end insists that his injury is just “a minor one” as he told two of his two teammates.
Eric Ebron was drafted by the Detroit Lions back in 2014, when he was selected as the 10th overall pick in the rookie draft.
In his first season with the league, he had a total of 25 receptions, 248 receiving yards, 9.9 average yards per game and sets his longest reception at 22. He also had one touchdown in his rookie year.
But in his second season, he improved his game to make him worthy of his draft selection. He almost doubled his stats from the previous year.
In 2015, Eric Ebron had a total of 47 receptions, 537 total receiving yards, 11.4 average yards per game and sets his longest reception at 55. Compared to his 2014 season in which he only had a touchdown, he made an impact in his recent one by getting 5 touchdowns.
With the suspected injury that Ebron suffered, he might miss the first half of the season. This is really an unfortunate situation for the Lions’ tight end. He could potentially be a breakout player next year as he shown in 2015 where he improved dramatically.
