It seems that Trevor Siemian has found favor this pre-season as he gets a third starting gig when they test the Los Angeles Rams this weekend. If things go well for Siemian, he could very well end up with the starting position when the season starts.
Broncos’ coach Gary Kubiak told ESPN that he will still rotate his quarterbacks. He is optimistic that by next week he would be able to announce who among Siemian, Mark Sanchez, and even rookie Paxton Lynch will earn the starting position.
“They’re all going to play. And the biggest thing I have to take a look at, too, is how I’m going to play our starters as far as how I get the rotation going. … It’s down to the nitty-gritty here. … I’m going to make a decision next week, and we’re going to go to work,” Kubiak explains.

With Siemian playing as the starter this weekend, it puts Sanchez and Lynch in the second and third rotation. What is significant is that Kubiak is also looking at Lynch after Sanchez’s poor performance in their first two pre-season matches. Kubiak sees Siemian wanting to bounce back from his performance against the 49ers last weekend.
“I think Trevor did a good job the other night. Obviously, he has one play, he’d like to have back, or it probably would, it would have, being as good as it could be,” Kubiak said. “So, I’m going to go back and give him a chance to do that again.”
For Sanchez, he knows he needs to work even harder to get Kubiak’s attention. While Lynch is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to either land the starting job or be a backup to either Siemian or Sanchez.

Siemian knows that he is near his goal and just needs one more push to get the starting position. And if he gets it, Siemian has the opportunity to show why he was picked by the Broncos then to be Peyton Manning’s apprentice.

The pre-season match against the Rams will be the Broncos last as they shift their preparations on high gear as they will face a familiar foe, the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 8. If ever Siemian has plans to showcase his Super Bowl skills, this is the perfect opportunity to show Kubiak and the rest of the Broncos.
