The Tennessee Titans got off a fast start and beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in a blowout, 36-22 on Thursday Night Football. Quarterback Marcus Mariota showed why he was the No 2 pick in the draft throwing 270 yards with two touchdowns.
“It was important. To give our fans an opportunity to see how this team can play, it was huge. Hopefully, this will build a foundation for the rest of the year and give the fans what they really want,” Mariota stated to ESPN about the win.
This was the Titan’s fourth win in four games but they are just a half game back the Houston Texans in the AFC South. Jacksonville dropped to 2-5 and is in danger of getting eliminated early for the NFL postseason race.
Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray had 123 rushing yards on 21 carries with a touchdown while four Tennessee receivers had four catches and more than 37 receiving yards each in this game, marking what was a balanced offensive passing attack from Mariota.
After the loss, there are NFL rumors that Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley has lost the trust of his team and could be fired this season by the Jacksonville management. The team owner even visited the locker room after their previous loss to the Oakland Raiders.
The Jaguars have three tough games next. They will visit the Kansas City Chiefs then face the Houston Texans at home. Another road game against the Detroit Lions comes in the next few weeks.
